Here are a few (10 to be exact) excellent examples of neo film noir. Classical film noir, as a genre, tends to span a limited amount of years during the 1950s, but reel noir is not dead.

A 2nd classification tends to lump all post 1950 film noir into neo film noir from 1960 onward. I beg to differ.

So far, I see 3 strands -1960 -1990 (post neo noir), and neo film noir from 1990 onward. At this point, these post film noir classics range the gamut from 1960 on, just for illustration of some of the top neo film noir classics of all time. The starred films illustrate David Lynch films during the neo span.

Neo Film Noir Classics:

1. CHINATOWN (1974)
2. BLUE VELVET (1986) *
3. LOST HIGHWAY (1997) *
4. BOUND (1996)
5. BODY HEAT (1981)
6. MEMENTO (2001)
7. THE LAST SEDUCTION (1994)
8. AFTER DARK, MY SWEET (1990)
9. MULHOLLAND DRIVE (2001) *
10. L.A. CONFIDENTIAL (1997)

This is a terrific video from YouTube. I stumbled upon it while seeking out any possible ‘Zen Noir’ videos.
